As we have all reached towards the end of the year, lets look at what’s new been offered by Microsoft for Dynamics 365 Sales in latest wave 2 release under GA (General availability) category.
Customization of Opportunity Close dialog box
It’s been long pending ask by end users & community where we get Out-of-the-box option to customize the Opportunity Won or Lost dialog box with few more custom fields as per business need so that it can be utilized to understand & analyse the Wins & Losses.
Note: This feature is available in the Unified Interface only. This capability is available in Dynamics 365 Sales Enterprise and Dynamics 365 Sales Professional.
LinkedIn Sales Navigator integration enhancements
LinkedIn Sales Navigator and Dynamics 365 Sales CRM is bundled offering by Microsoft under Microsoft Relationship Sales in which Sales representative were able to view LinkedIn profile of Organization & Individual, but with this release Dynamics 365 Sales will foster efficient customer engagement by allowing sales reps to compose and send InMail from within Dynamics 365 Sales entities along with Profile pictures from LinkedIn to help sellers more easily identify contacts.

Simplified lead management experience
Prior to Wave 2 release we didn’t had an option to select the behavior of Lead qualification like whether to create an Account, contact and opportunity, but with this release we have an option to decide & select the lead qualification behavior.
Business card scan
Again, one of most common ask by customers that whether they can create a contact by scanning business card & Microsoft answered it already.
Note: Business card scan feature will only be available in the US and EU regions.
Enhance the adding or editing Opportunity/Quote/Order/Invoice products experience
Prior to wave 2 release sales rep never had an option to add a product to opportunity without price list being selected, now with wave 2 release searching and filtering experiences by allowing salespeople to select a product on any line item, empowering them to be more productive and avoid unnecessary context switching.
Microsoft Teams integration enhancements
With Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement Wave 2 release, Microsoft has made their One Microsoft story much stronger with enhanced integration with Microsoft Teams. Earlier version of basic Microsoft Teams integration had limitation of collaborating the Dynamics 365 records within teams where user doesn’t had any option to choose the members who can see this record in Microsoft Teams, with this new Enhanced collaboration experience now user can choose the team members who either own the record or the record has been shared with them to the team member group.

Contextual email communication
With Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement Wave 2 release, Microsoft has offered contextual email communication feature which will allow user to send the email from any record without leaving the main record screen which also mean that user can refer to data displayed on a page and they don’t have to navigate away from it. One more small step towards improving user productivity.
